We Survived!

Finals are over! Cory and I came out of finals week with... decent grades...! Friday morning my apartment had an early Christmas to celebrate the end of Fall Semester! Cory, and some of our other friends, came over at 7 in the morning and the festivities began. Over the passed few days we had filled each others stockings with little Dollar Store gifts, so we opened those and then ate a wonderful breakfast that Aly made us. Cory came in a little late (due to the fact that he was pulled over on the way to my apartment), and the first thing that he did when he walked into the apartment was stand right in front of me, with a stack of papers, the first with a big I on it, and then started throwing the papers on the ground, one after another. I-L-O-V-E-Y-O-U-S-O-M-U-C-H was written on the papers! It was such a simple, yet thoughtful little gesture. It definitely made my morning. I took my last final right after this, and then we headed back to Wyoming for the break. The picture above is of Cory sporting the pink and orange fuzzy socks that I got in my stocking. He is one a-DORK-able guy. I sure love him!

Finals Are Here

And the studying begins! Finals for Utah State start next week, so Cory and I have been living in the library. Between finals, work, and getting ready for Christmas, there isn't a whole lot of time for anything else. (well except for blogging of course) We did most of our Christmas shopping last week because we knew that  we were going to be in crunch mode, and wouldn't have much time to get any shopping done! All the presents for the Harker family have been purchased, and most of the presents for my family too. Now all I need is a few friends gifts and we will be golden. I have been really stressed about money lately with tuition due and Christmas coming up, so I was going to stay in Logan an extra week and make some more money instead of heading home for Christmas right after finals. My parents didn't like this idea, so my dad called me up and told me that he would pay me 50 bucks for every day that I will be missing work, if I go up to Cowley early! Well that was some pretty good incentive, so it looks like I will be in Wyoming on the 16th of December instead of the 22nd! That means I will get to see the Harkers before they head off to Hawaii for the break. Yup that's right. Cory will be laying on the beach basking in the sun in Hawaii while I am in cold Wyoming freezing my butt off! Its a good thing I love that boy our I would probably really hate him! Ha. Well Merry Christmas to all of you reading this.

Memories all Alone in the Moonlight

I was looking through some picture of Cory and I, and I stumbled across the first picture we took together!
Haha he was making a funny face because he had a fat lip from Racquet Ball. Its funny to think how far we have come since this picture was taken! This was our second date together! We went to a USU football game, and to tell you the truth... I don't really remember a whole lot of the game. That boy I sat next to just happened to become my best friend! I love you Cory! I can not wait to marry you!

Double Date with Tim and Aly

My sister Aly and I decided that we needed to have a date night with the significant others in our lives. We thought about dinner and a movie, but that is such a common and boring activity. So we put our heads together and came up with the idea of making nativity scenes from clay. We turned it into a competition, couple against couple! There was no way Tim and Aly were going to beat us! We (okay Aly) purchased the clay and the competition was on.
Cory has always been a huge Star Wars fan, so I thought it would be different and creative to incorporate it into our nativity! Mary and Joseph were Padme and Anakin, baby Jesus was Luke, the wise man was Yoda, the Shepard was C3PO and the sheep was R2-D2.

Aly and Tim decided to take the more traditional approach! Their nativity turned out cool... but no where near as cool as our!

All in all we had a really fun night! It was good to have some sisterly and significant other bonding!

We're ENGAGED!

I have never been a big Halloween fan. Scary movies made me wet my pants, and so did creepy kids dressed as zombies. My attitude of this changed immensely this Halloween though. I have been crazy busy with school, work, and a rat lab that my Psychology grade depends on. I am constantly running from place to place with no time for myself, and I was starting to get stressed out! So Cory decided that we needed a date night away from all the homework and stresses of college life. I got out of my lab, called Cory and he told me he would come pick me up in about 30 minutes. I rushed home and made myself look extra cute, just in case he decided to pop a certain question. Aly dressed me, but kept mentioning how silly I was because “Cory was not going to purpose tonight!” (Good thing I didn’t listen to her!)
He picked me up and I was shocked that he was wearing something other than khakis and grey tennis shoes. We chatted with Aly and Alyssa (our roommate) and they told us that Jessa was having a game night at her house and we were supposed to go to it after dinner. This threw me off.  I was beginning to doubt that tonight would be the night. As we were driving I asked him where we were going to eat and he told me McDonalds because that was all he could afford. You can’t go wrong with the dollar menu right! Cory took a wrong turn and we “accidently” ended up at the Sizzler! We ordered hamburgers and had a really nice dinner together. I sure do love this boy!
After dinner Cory was in dire need of some floss. So we took a detour and went to Walgreens. After getting Cory’s teeth situation fixed, we were in the truck again heading to our next destination. Cory asked my where Jessa lived, and I had no idea, so somehow we ended up at USU campus at the bottom of Old Main Hill, which just happened to be where we first met! At this point I knew something was up.  He parked and asked me to go on a walk with him. We climbed the million stairs up the hill laughing, and panting and playing with Cory’s laser that he is extremely proud of. When we got to the top and turned the corner around Old Main, I saw that the A (the Aggies statue on USU campus where Cory and I had our first kiss) was coverd with candles and there was a big bouquet of flowers on the top. Cory and my song “God Gave Me You” by Blake Shelton was playing in the background. I could not stop smiling. We walked over to the A and he told me he wanted to read me something. He pulled out his phone and read me the most beautiful poem I have ever heard, that he wrote just for me and this moment. He started crying, then I started crying, it was perfect.
After the poem he it was silent for a moment, and I was wondering if I was ever going to get the ring. A few seconds passed and he told me that he had something to give me. He got on his knee and pulled out a laser case. Right when he got on his knee our friend Jessa ran out from behind a tree and began taking pictures! Cory opened it and there was the ring. He asked me if I would marry him and I replied with a yes! All of our closest friends from USU were hiding and when I said yes they all came out running, and screaming and we were all hugging and kissing and laughing. It was the most magical night of my life. The next few hours were spent calling family and friends and letting the whole world know that Cory and I were getting hitched. I cannot wait to marry my best friend!
